Movie Posters Comparisons and Contrasts

Movie Poster 1

Jumanji Welcome To The Jungle Rental DVD 2018 (Original) - DVD PLANET STORE

Movie Poster 2

Welcome To The Jungle – The Ava Echo

Similarities or comparison between movie poster 1 & movie poster 2

Compare- what is the same?

Firstly, in comparison, both movie posters have “Jumanji” written on them in bold and capitalized yellow/orange/red letters.

Secondly, they both have the same four actors on them.

The next comparison is that all four actors wear the same clothes (clothes that you would wear on a jungle expedition).

Lastly, both posters have wild animals on them.

Contrasts or differences between movie poster 1 & movie poster 2

Contrast- what is different?

Firstly, the second poster looks blurry (in the background) but the first poster looks sharp.

Secondly, another difference is that on the first poster the four actors are standing in the jungle, and on the second poster the actors are standing in a swamp.

the title is full block serif capitals, very orderly and structured.

Next the second poster has no helicopters in it, while the first one does.

Lastly both postes have animals in them, however, it's not the same ones. The first poster shows a snake, an elephant, a rhino, birds (these are all animals that live on land/in the air). The second poster only shows an alligator (water animal).

  1. This is an awesome analysis Aliyah - well done. This is one of the best ones I have seen in the class and your summaries of comparison points and contrast points are very good. One big difference I spotted was that the characters are in different order, with Jack Black's character, swapping places with Kevin Hart's character. I watched the very first Jumanji, with Robin Williams, but haven't seen the second one yet. Would it be suitable for my 7 year old great-grand-daughter, or would it be too scary?
